RED HILLS RETRO LINK UP
Empowering Youth for Success
Countdown To Anniversary 2024
ABOUT US
In October, 2013, The Red Hills Retro Link Up (RHRLU) was born by a young man’s strong desires to help empower the youths of the community in which he grew up and the surrounding areas. Desmond Todd affectionately known as Bebba had gone back to the Red Hills community and the surrounding areas and was greeted by many but also unknown to many. After interacting with numerous individuals from the community Desmond Todd was moved by the despair and seemingly hopelessness of naturally talented youths, but lacking the opportunity to realize their full potential.
Upon his return to the United States he immediately contacted the following individuals who grown up in the same Red Hills community; Anthony Richards, Donavan Carr, Harold Gordon, Pat Bolt-Thomas, and Courtney Moseley, people with a heart for the community and its wellbeing that possess good moral and ethical values that shaped their character and a shared vision for the community and youths in particular.
The organization was now initiated and its primary purpose for existing is to make a profound difference in the lives of youth and adolescence by helping them to attain their dreams and goals and become contributors to the growth and development of the respective area in which they live.
While RHRLU is not in the business of formal classroom teaching our objective will be to facilitate the learning by assisting where necessary for example offering a scholarships; helping to improve the lives of all individuals of the Red Hills communities by connecting individuals, families and communities with opportunities based on Christian values that strengthens Spirit, Mind, and Body; motivating and encouraging youths to reach for the stars and strive for excellence in all their pursuits; to encourage long-term involvement, and provide a progression of activities promoting developmental growth, emphasize learning strategies based upon fun, play, action, group and individual challenges and teaching life skills to augment academic learning.
